The CVSC Spartans, one of the newest Boys Club teams in the Santa Maria and Orcutt area, is holding tryouts for the team’s goalkeeper and other positions.

The Spartans recently formed as a Boys U9 team and will be competing in the U10 Boys Division in the Central Coast Soccer League. Games are played locally from Atascadero to Santa Maria, with occasional travel out of the area for tournaments and the State Cup.

The team plans to continue competing in the Boy Scouts league with games exclusively in Santa Maria. With coach and trainer Gonzalo ā€œGonzoā€ Garcia, the Spartans are already showing potential by taking second place at the CVSC Cool Summer Classic and third in the Boy Scouts League.

Field players will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and participants must have been born after Aug. 1, 2000.
