Author Steve Corbett, a former local journalist, will appear at The Bookworm in Santa Maria on Nov. 3.

Corbett will present a reading from his new book, Blood Red Syrah, a thriller based in Central Coast wine country. In Corbett’s novel, killer Wally Wilson fights with “Syrah,” a voice in his head that sends him from the gates of Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch to the banquet hall of the Santa Maria Elks Club.
