California residents now have an easier and more convenient way to obtain a state boater education card—from the comfort of home.
Boaterexam.com is an interactive boating education course that covers all of the state’s exam requirements and is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard.
With more than 150 animations and 300 illustrations, the online study guide teaches participants about boat classifications, hull designs, motors, registration and equipment, navigation, safety regulations, and waterway marking systems. Each chapter concludes with a summary and a practice quiz, providing all the tools a student needs to pass the final exam. Students will also have access to boaterexam.com’s exclusive toll-free help line seven days a week.
The boaterexam.com course is free, but students will pay a one-time fee of $29.95 upon successfully completing the online final exam. A temporary boater education card will be issued and can be printed immediately to use while a permanent card is sent that will arrive two to three weeks later.
A boater education card may entitle the holder to discounts on boat or personal watercraft insurance.
