Worried about packing on the Thanksgiving pounds? Teens and adults can get in shape before the big turkey day at the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department’s 14th annual Turkey Trot Fun Run on Nov. 20.
Runners and walkers will be participating on a 2.5-mile course, but shorter distances will also be available for those ages 7 to 11. The first race starts at 9 a.m. at the Hagerman Sports Complex, 3300 Skyway Drive. Pre-registrations will be accepted until Nov. 17. The cost is $10, which includes an event T-shirt. Awards will be given to first- and second-place finishers in each division.
