Summer youth baseball is here, and players ages 8 to 13 will have a chance to improve their skills at one of two clinics hosted by Allan Hancock College.
The first clinic will be held June 14 to 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allan Hancock Collegeās John Osborne Field. The second clinic will run from June 21 to 24 at the same times.
Registration costs $100 for one week or $175 for both weeks. Additional family members cost $75 for one week.
The classes will focus on hitting, fielding, and pitching skills. Instructors include Bryn Smith, pitching coach for the Santa Maria Valley Packers and former major league pitcher; Chris Stevens, head coach at Allan Hancock College; Scott Nickason, head coach of the Packers; Jim Allen, head coach at Lompoc High School; Terry Newby, head coach at Santa Maria High School; Cesar Reyes, head coach of the Santa Maria Pilots; and Clarence Griego, pitching coach for Allan Hancock College.
