Poster contest winners know how to rock
The Santa Maria Fairpark announced the winners of the Santa Barbara County Fair poster contest.
Fatima Cacho, 11, of Santa Maria, and Adrianna Diaz, 19, of Lompoc took first place in their respective categories of younger than 18 years of age and 18 and older.
The contest called for entries that best represent this yearās fair theme of āRock Around the Clockā. The winning images will become commemorative posters for the fair.
All entries will be displayed during the fair, which will be held from July 9 to 13.
Grab your dancing shoes
The Santa Maria Fairpark will host a 1950s-style dance contest, to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Center Stage at the Santa Barbara County Fair. Fairgoers that dress in ā50s style costumes will receive free entrance to the fair that day. Dance contestants can sign up at the stage, no pre-registration required.
Cash will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place couples, $300 for 1st, $200 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd place.
After the contest, Little Anthony & The Imperials will perform at 8 p.m. on the Main Stage, followed by Chubby Checker.

Volunteers needed for Central Coast Classic
Volunteers are needed to help out at the Central Coast Wine Classic on Saturday, July 12, at the Avila Beach Golf Resort. PCPA has been asked to help provide volunteers to lend a hand with the Rare & Fine Wine & Lifestyle Auction & Luncheon. Volunteer duties include set-up, breakdown, pouring, plating, serving, and auction assistance.
The Central Coast Wine Classic takes place July 10 to 13.
