The inaugural Lompoc Valley Artists Studio Tour will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 3.

Lompoc artists—including Linda Gooch, Vicki and Gil Andersen, Tonya Schultz, Debby Fuller, and Elizabeth Monks Hack—will open their studios for a first-hand chance to see where and how they create.

Ten studios will be open to the public, each with several guest artists also displaying their creations. Artists will also showcase their work in Centennial Square, just outside the Cypress Gallery at 119 East Cypress Ave.

The event ties in with the Lompoc Valley Art Association’s Annual Fall Show and the Lompoc Museum’s exhibition BasketMakers: Traditional to Modern. See the fall show inside at the Cypress Gallery from 4 to 7 p.m., with an awards presentation at 5:30 p.m. Check out the BasketMakers opening reception from 3 to 6 p.m. at the museum at 200 South H St.

The studio tour event is organized by the association as a fundraiser for its scholarship fund.  Every year, the association awards scholarships to qualified students at Hancock College, Cabrillo High, Lompoc High, and a local alternative school.

Tour booklets, with maps and directions to the 10 studios, admit two adults, cost $10, and are available at the Cypress Gallery (119 East Cypress Ave.), Lompoc Chamber of Commerce, Lompoc Museum, South Side Coffee Company, Ace Hardware, and Amy’s Village Frame Shop.
