As of July 29, the Artists Guild of the Santa Ynez Valley is no longer known as such, the arts organization announced in a press release. The nonprofit organization, with more than 30 years of providing organization and support for valley artists, changed its name to the Santa Ynez Valley Arts Association. The new name is meant to imply the group’s broader, more inclusive approach to its mission, the release stated.

The organization will remain dedicated to its ongoing mission of offering a central resource and support mechanism to provide exposure and collaboration with local artists, museums, organizations, and business that show or promote the arts in the Santa Ynez Valley. In recent years, the Artists Guild began a committee called Santa Ynez Valley Arts to help maintain and promote large events like the upcoming Quick Draw and Art Festival in Los Olivos.

The Santa Ynez Valley Arts Association hopes to broaden its focus of support to the greater Santa Ynez Valley, which includes Lompoc, Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez, Ballard, Los Olivos, and Los Alamos, the release detailed. Arts event information can be added to the group’s website:  santaynezvalleyarts.org. More information is available at 688-7338 or rrgomez@hwy246.net.
