The Solvang studio Art Spot on Wheels is hosting two six-week-long art camps for kids starting in January.

For ages 7 to 12, the fun begins on Jan. 12. Each week, instructors teach a new medium and allow students to explore their own creativity. The class will meet on Mondays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and is capped at 12 students.

“Participants will learn the joys of drawing, painting with watercolor and acrylic paint, printmaking, mixed media art, and more,” according to the studio’s website.

Classes for younger students, ages 4 to 6, begin on Jan. 14. Kids will be dropped off for a 45-minute class on Wednesdays starting at 4 p.m.

The class is all about teaching kids process art, “in which the emphasis is on the process of creating and not just the final product,” according to the website.

Registration for both classes is available online at artspotonwheels.com. Payment, including a $50 deposit, is due at the time of enrollment, and there are payment plans available. Email info@artspotonwheels.com for more information.

The studio is located at 320 Alisal Road, suite 306B, in Solvang.
