The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is now accepting applications for runners looking to participate in the 2010 Bull Canyon Run, to be held May 8.
More than 1,000 runners and walkers are expected for the 12th running of the event, which will kick off at 8 a.m. with a 5K and 10K run and a 5K walk.
Pick up applications at Heritage Oaks Bank, the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, or Santa Maria City Hall. Runners can also register online.
The cost is $25 for adult runners and $20 for walkers and youth runners. There will be no race-day registration. All participants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt and a medal, plus awards for top runners.
The department is also looking for volunteers to pass out water, medals, and T-shirts.
