Altrusa International Foundation Santa Maria Inc. announced the distribution of its spring grants, which awarded more than $19,000 to local agencies, the organization said in a June 2 release. The money is awarded from Altrusaās memorial fund, which receives donations from people looking to honor departed friends and families.
The grant money was awarded to several local institutions and programs, including the Childrenās Resource and Referral Service Lending Library, the Valley Art Galleryās Childrenās Program, Fighting Back Santa Maria Conflict Solutions Center, Santa Barbara County Education Office Teacherās Network, Friends of the Guadalupe Library, local California Reads Programs, CareNet Pregnancy Centerās Apple pad and laser printer, McKenzie Junior High Schoolās library collection, North County Rape Crisis Childsafe Workshops, Court Appointed Special Advocates birthday cards, Central Coast Music Academy strings program, Santa Maria Public Library Foundationās homework center, HOPE for Santa Maria computer upgrade, the Dunes Centerās oceanographic program, and Community Partners in Caring.
