Allan Hancock College will feature the work of instructor Jill Thayer in the college’s Ann Foxworthy Gallery from Sept. 1 through Oct. 7. The exhibit, titled In Context: Transdisciplinary Works and Other Musings, will showcase the artist and teacher’s multifaceted approach to art and study.

An opening reception event is Sept. 14 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the gallery. The event is an opportunity for locals and students to interact with the artist, Gallery Director Marti Fast said in a statement.

“Jill is all about the conversation between artwork and viewer, student and teacher, reader and writer, and one person to another,” Fast said. “She connects ideas and expression together in new ways that inspire those around her.”
