The C Gallery in Los Alamos is playing host to a special “Art Cabaret” event with a local artist creating intimate paintings of live models while an audience of onlookers enjoys fine food and wine on June 29 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the gallery, 466 Bell St., Los Alamos.

Suzanne Alexandra will be creating monoprints on canvas from paint applied to models’ bodies. Alexandra will imprint the models onto the canvas, creating an image of their form. The inspiration came from Alexandra’s time with the Peruvian natives, the Quechuan, who still believe the camera takes part of a subject’s soul. She leaves a part of each model imprinted on the canvas, trying to capture their inner energy, giving the event the secondary title “Imprinting the Interior.”

The event will feature candlelit cabaret tables, and savory and sweet hor d’oeuvres by Café Quackenbush and Bell Street Farms. There will also be wines poured by the Casa Dumetz winery. An intermission will feature an outside bonfire and live music.

Cost for the “Art Cabaret” event is $45 per person, or $75 per couple. More information is available at 344-3807, connie@thecgallery.com, or thecgallery.com.
