The Santa Maria Public Library announced that the Orcutt Branch Library will be open on Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m. beginning Friday, July 8. The added day of service will increase its total weekly hours from 32 to 36.

The Orcutt Branch has an average of 550 visitors daily and circulates an average of 7,265 items monthly. In addition to checking out materials, visitors use the library computers and databases; attend story time; use the onsite Wi-Fi, fax, and copier machines; and read a wide variety of magazines and newspapers.

Current Orcutt Branch Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., plus the new Friday hours.
