Photo submissions to the annual Lompoc Valley Photography Contest are being accepted through Friday, Oct. 18. The contest is open to both adults and children (ages 5 and older). The competition is divided into five categories: Youth (grades K through eight); Teen (grades nine through 12); Adult Amateur (ages 18 and older); Adult Professional (ages 18 and older); and Nature and Faces (ages 5 and older).
Ribbons will be awarded to first, second, and third place in each category and for Best of Show during a reception at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. The venue is located at 1120 W. Ocean Ave., Lompoc.
Photo entries cost $3 each and can be submitted at the Anderson Recreation Center, located at 125 W. Walnut Ave., Lompoc. Call (805) 875-8100 or visit cityoflompoc.com for an application, entry rules, and other info.
