The Wildling Art Museum is offering a series of discussions focusing on the different tools and practices used throughout the painting process. Taught by a variety of professionals, the hour-long classes are geared toward beginners and anyone interested in getting deeper into painting. Each informal session is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more in a casual, friendly environment. The series is offered three Saturdays, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., each month through July.
Karina Puente will lead the discussions in June, focusing on composition, perspective, volume, under-painting, value scale, painting techniques, and glazing. In June, the classes will start with photographing work led by Bob Knowles, and follow with discussions by Ralph Young on framing, hanging, storing, and shipping work.
Space is limited to 15 people in each class, and pre-registration is recommended. The fee for one discussion is $15; a one-month series is $30. For more information, visit wildlingmuseum.org or call 688-1082.
