On the baseball diamond, 12-year-old Adrian Santini is a triple threat–he can pitch better, hit harder, and run faster than just about anyone his age.
Santini, an Orcutt Junior High School student, has been an integral member on each of his Little League teams since he was just 7 years old. But recently, he’s been dominating a somewhat different competition: Pitch, Hit, and Run.
Santini won all-around champ in both the local and sectional competitions, according to Dennis Smitherman, a management analyst with the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department. Then earlier this month, Smitherman said Santini blew statewide competition away at Dodger Stadium, where he again took first in his age group.
Later that night, Santini’s mom said the family rushed back to town for an Orcutt National Little League game. “To him it was like no big deal,” she said.
