The Santa Maria Arts Council will raffle off 10 birdhouses at the Chalk Art Festival in Orcutt on Sept. 30 to raise money for local student artists.
Local artists who contributed birdhouses are Gerry Stinn, Dale Cornwell, Marilyn Dover Benson, Marti Fast, Carrie Rose Alexander, Hattie Stoddard, Caroline Reid, Erik and Judy Frost, Cynthia Valdez, and Dean Reese. For $1, attendees to the festival can purchase a ticket to win one of the artsy birdhouses.
This is the fifth annual Santa Maria Arts Council Birdhouse Fundraiser. All proceeds go directly to prizes awarded to outstanding young artists participating in the Arts Council’s Spring Student Art Show. Last year, the birdhouse fundraiser raised $1,000 and all the funds went directly to show prizes.
