Jean Rittenberg’s paintings are showing through Feb. 10 at the Los Olivos Cafe, 2870 Grand Ave., in Los Olivos. Rittenberg is an active member of the Artists Guild of the Santa Ynez Valley, whose work is often on view in the Guild Room at Gallery Los Olivos. A reception for the artist will be held on Dec. 15, 5 to 7 p.m., at the café. The public is invited to attend.
Rittenberg is proficient in several media, including watercolor, acrylic, and oil paint; pastels; and ceramics. She enjoys creating pastel renditions of Native American children, drawing on her Mohawk heritage. Rittenberg’s work has garnered several awards, including honors at the Santa Barbara County and Mid-State fairs and the “Best of the Best” in Lompoc. Her work is also showing at the Artist Alley in San Francisco.
