The Santa Maria Valley Industry Education Council and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor and Convention Bureau are hosting their annual Business Appreciation luncheon on Oct. 8 at the Elks Lodge from noon to 1:30 p.m. This year’s theme, Partnerships Are Sweet!, is an opportunity for the organizations to thank local companies, nonprofits, and individuals who support local schools.

The luncheon will include the distribution of eight computers through the Computer Connections program, a joint venture between the Industry Education Council and the chamber of Commerce. According to a press release from The Santa Barbara County Office of Education, more than 200 students and their families have received new computer packages through the program, which is geared toward helping underserved children.

For reservations, contact the chamber at register@santamaria.com, or call Jennifer at 925-2403. Questions about the Industry Education Council and its partnerships can be directed to Peggy Greer, the council liaison, at peggreer@sbceo.org or 349-0443.
