Where do I begin? This is one of the worst pieces I have ever read in this publication (“Remember patience and humility,” Nov. 14). This commentary was so far off the charts, it bordered on lunacy. The title alone, talking about humility; well, the writer could use some for sure. Now, I am far from the religious, or as he puts it “the right wing religious believers,” but I find so many faults here.

He shows his complete ignorance in the first paragraph with his “promoted by FOX News and multiple right-wing religio-political organizations.” Is he really that ignorant? Later, he talks about how the right is intent on showing the “evil ACLU is persecuting Christians.” I wonder why he did not call out the ACLU for their left-leaning biases. He quotes about “hypocrites” (pot, meet kettle) and how America was “never a Christian nation,” then quotes the Bible. Like that had anything to do with strictly America!

I should have stopped reading this diatribe at the start, but wanted to see where he was headed. He has shown his willful ignorance of not only religion, but of many Americans. I’m all for anyone believing in what they want to. Mr. Casebolt, though, wants all religious people to “see the light,” as if he is the truth teller here in his beliefs. This mantra might work good on the left-wing radical news organizations like ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, etc., but it shouldn’t be published here. He should’ve kept his ignorance to himself, and we would not have known. Now he opens his mind and removes all doubt!

Please keep him away from future editions of this fine publication.
