The American people have a political party problem. We the people can still have a functioning government if we simply follow the advice of our first president. In his farewell address to the nation, President George Washington warned against becoming involved in foreign entanglements.

We have clearly failed as a nation to heed this sage advice, and as a consequence our standing in the world has reached an unseemly level of hypocrisy.

More to the point though, he also warned us against organizing the government through participation in political parties because there is a tendency to place loyalty to the party ahead of loyalty to the nation.

Now in the third decade of the 21st century, we see how this political party problem has paralyzed our government and prevented it from functioning in the manner that our founders intended. The American people can resolve this political party dilemma by simply having everyone reregister to vote as an Independent!
