Nearly half of St. Joseph High School’s students received academic excellence awards at their annual awards banquet on Feb. 24.
During the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year, 205 students earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. Of those students, 135 made the Principal’s Honor Roll with a 3.75 or higher. Fall semester’s highest GPA was a 4.83.
In a press release, Principal Joanne Poloni said St. Joseph High sends 99 percent of its graduates to college.
“With this common goal, administrators, teachers, and parents work together to assist students in achieving their goals through a challenging curriculum and unconditional support,” Poloni said in the release.
St. Joseph’s curriculum centers on college prep classes—honors and advanced placement courses—in addition to a Catholic-Christian foundation.
