The California High School Rodeo Association District 7 Commission will welcome past and future members at a general meeting on Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. at the Madonna Inn. Junior high and high school students interested in participating in the 2013-2014 rodeo season are invited to attend the meeting, which kicks off another year.

District 7 encompasses San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties.

ā€œWe’ll be covering a lot of important topics, such as the rodeo schedule, policy and rule changes, and membership requirements,ā€ said Caden Clay, District 7 student board president, in a press release. ā€œThe meeting will also give current members an opportunity to reconnect after the summer break and for new members to get to know the District 7 rodeo athletes.ā€

Once inducted, association members compete in a plethora of events and activities, which include bull riding, calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling.

The California High School Rodeo Association is a nonprofit that preserves the decrees of the National High School Rodeo Association and promotes high school rodeo competition on a state level.
