The Lompoc Police Department requested help from the public on Feb. 27, following a robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store at 1337 N. H St.

Police spokespersons said in a statement that the crime occurred just after 2:30 a.m. The suspect reportedly entered the business armed with a pistol and a large knife and punched the attending clerk “several times in the back” before forcing the employee to the floor.

The department said that the suspect threatened to shoot the clerk if he attempted to get up and then fled the scene. The robber is described as a Hispanic adult male, standing around 5 feet 8 inches, and “with a medium build and dark clothing.” A victim statement given to the responding officers said the suspect wore a dark colored bandana across the lower portion of his face and had long dark hair.

The department is also investigating a stabbing that occurred on Feb. 26 just after 3 p.m. Officers responded to a call at the 1100 block of West Maple Avenue for a report of “about 20 people fighting in the street and a person stabbed,” according to a department statement.

Once police arrived on scene, they found a 23-year-old man “bleeding profusely after suffering knife wounds to his upper torso.” Lompoc officers used a tourniquet to stem the bleeding on the unidentified man before he was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment, the department said. As of the Sun‘s press time, the victim’s name had yet to be released due to the pending investigation.

The incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, the department stated. The public is encouraged to report any information on the stabbing or the robbery to Lompoc police on the Lompoc Police Department mobile app or by calling: (805) 736-2341.
