The sixth annual Lompoc Collaboration Faire’s purpose is to help nonprofits do their work better. To help achieve that end, the coordinators of the event have brought together guest speakers and are planning on holding panel discussions, seminars, and networking opportunities for nonprofits.
Panels and discussions include “An Honest Look at Board Development,” with Joyce Howerton from the Fund for Santa Barbara; “Working in Harmony: Composing Board/Staff Relationships,” with Pat Brady from Good Samaritan Services, Inc.; “A New Generation of Leadership: Succession Planning,” with Niki Sandoval from the Nonprofit Support Center; and “Fund Development for Effective Board Members,” with Kathy Simas.
Confirmed guest speakers at the event are Ann Bockius, Lompoc Family YMCA; Shannon Rose Chavez, North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center executive director; Scott Coe, Foodbank of Santa Barbara County; Jaime Marks, Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce; Roger McConnell, Foodbank of Santa Barbara County; Steve Petty, Good Samaritan Services, Inc.; Dan Powell of Lompoc Family YMCA executive director; Jason Reynolds, Young Professionals Network; Judy Taggart, director of Community Health Lompoc Valley Community Health Care Organization; and Wanda Toro, North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center.
The Collaboration Faire will be held Aug. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Anderson Recreation Center, 125 W. Walnut Ave. in Lompoc. Cost is $20 per person, or $15 if paid before Aug. 1, and $10 per display space. For more information or to reserve a display space, call 928-2503.
