Carpinteria City Councilman and Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association Executive Director Joe Armendariz will be the guest speaker at the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon on July 21.

Armendariz will talk about the financial crisis and solutions to the problems faced at this critical time in the state’s economy.

He also represents Carpinteria on the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments and serves on the Santa Barbara County Local Agency Formation Commission.

The luncheon will be held at the Santa Maria Fairpark’s Satellite Wagering Facility, 937 S. Thornburg. It starts at noon, with an opportunity to network with community leaders at 11:30 a.m. The cost to attend is $12, with checks made payable to SMVCC. Reservations must be made by July 17 at 2 p.m.
