Need some family outing ideas for this fall? You’re in luck: The city of Santa Maria’s Recreation and Parks Department’s 2010 Fall/Winter Recreation Guide is now available to residents in the Santa Maria Valley.

According to city officials, the guide was mailed to local homes in August, and is also available at the Recreation and Parks office, 615 S. McClelland St., in Santa Maria. The full class, program, and event schedule can also be found online at ci.santa-maria.ca.us/RecGuide.shtml.

Some Fall/Winter Recreation Guide activities include programs and classes for active older adults, aquatics, adult arts, Special Olympics, dance classes, exercise and fitness classes, and youth, teen, and adult sports. Community events such as Take Me Fishing and the annual Special Olympics Crab Feed are also advertised. A new youth soccer camp, Nintendo Wii games for seniors, swimming lessons, and youth and adult
pottery are also being offered.

A discounted class rate is available to Santa Maria residents.
