Santa Barbara County will be holding a workshop in Santa Maria to provide information to contractors about the county’s emPowerSBC program on Aug. 30.

EmPowerSBC offers financing to help residential and commercial property owners cover the upfront costs of energy efficiency, water efficiency, or renewable property improvements. Contractors who take part in the workshop will be considered ā€œtrainedā€ in the program, learning how to help their clients participate in and apply for the program and how to advertise their services on the emPowerSBC.org website.

The event’s featured presenters include Robin Hayhurst, executive director of the Santa Maria Valley Contractors’ Association; David Matson, director of the county’s Housing and Community Development Department; emPowerSBC program manager Angie Hacker; and Santa Barbara County Building Official Mike Zimmer.

The workshop takes place in the Hearing Room of the Betteravia County Government Center, 511 E. Lakeside Parkway, from 2 to
4 p.m.
