Caps will fly at the Los Prietos Boys Camp and Academy on Oct. 22 when Los Robles High School graduates 22 students. According to information from the Santa Barbara County Education Office, which runs the school, this graduation ceremony will mark the second largest high school graduating class in the history of the Los Prietos program.

Included in the program will be the announcement of scholarship awards funded by the Goleta Noontime and Santa Maria Breakfast Rotary clubs. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Located in the Los Padres National Forest, the camp and academy offer educational programs to delinquent boys ages 13 to 18. According to the camp’s website, the goal of Los Prietos is ā€œto return wards to the community as responsible and productive members of society.ā€ Facility staffers strive to instill in their students discipline, respect, and responsibility. Both programs embrace a zero-gang tolerance philosophy, and offer vocational training, counseling, drug and alcohol programming, religious and spiritual expression, and volunteer and community work service.
