The Santa Maria chapter of California Women for Agriculture, an organization dedicated to the survival of the agricultural industry, is holding its annual Casino Night on Sept. 18.
The event is the groupās main fundraiser of the year and includes a Santa Maria-style
barbecue, wine tasting, gaming, and a silent
and live auction. The cost to attend is $40.
In the past year, the local CWA chapter distributed $7,500 in scholarships, $3,000 for school gardens, and $2,500 for the Ag in the Classroom program, and co-sponsored the
33rd Assembly District Candidate Forum.
Casino Night takes place at Edwards Barn, 1095 Pomeroy Road in Nipomo, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
