On Oct. 10, during the KCOY 12 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway Special, two patients from St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Elizabeth Lobato and Brooke Renaud, drew tickets for prizes. The winning ticket had Jessica Soo’s name on it; she won a new house in Nipomo’s Trilogy Monarch Dunes Community.

The house, priced at $640,000, was built by Shea Homes, with support from numerous local suppliers and contractors.

“We’re really proud for the success of the St. Jude Dream Home in the Central Coast,” Liz Addamo, chairwoman of the Central Coast Dream Home, said in a statement. “We are very grateful to Shea Homes, Monarch Dunes, the subcontractors who donated their time and materials to build the home, KCOY CBS 12 and KKFX FOX 11, Lemos Feed and Pet Supply, Santa Barbara Bank and Trust, A and R Furniture and Interiors, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, the volunteers, local businesses, and local residents whose generous support made this event possible.”

The fundraiser brought in $850,400 for the hospital.

Other prizes included a $500 gift certificate for Mobil, a $500 VISA card, and a $7,500 furniture-shopping spree at A&R Furniture Store.
