Try zero dollars and zero cents for attendees of Fly Me to the Moon: From J.S. Bach to Mr. Spock, a free, family-friendly concert presented by the Santa Maria Philharmonic Society.

TO THE MOON AND BACK : Maestro Michael Nowak will conduct the orchestra during Fly Me to the Moon, a live performance and multimedia show at the Pacific Christian Center on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m.

Maestro Michael Nowak will conduct a live performance, which will accompany a multimedia presentation that documents the history of flight and promises to transport attendees to other worlds. The orchestra will perform a variety of classical compositions, including selections by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and other composers. The program is part of an ongoing series of educational concerts, offered to local elementary schools by the Society for the past 10 years.

R&R with some R&B

Local singer-songwriter Jineanne Coderre performs at two different venues over the weekend, starting with the Naughty Oak Brewing Company in Old Town Orcutt. Coderre takes the brewery’s stage on Friday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests can look forward to a fresh dose of Coderre’s original pop and R&B tunes. Admission is free, and the Maya food truck will be on site during the performance. In other words, either bring money or don’t come hungry. The brewery is located at 165 S. Coderre’s second concert takes place at Bodega in Los Alamos, on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 2:30 p.m., as part of the town’s Makeshift Makers Market. This monthly market features more than 30 local small businesses, including arts and crafts vendors, wineries, and food trucks. Whether you’re there to shop or browse, attendees can count on live music from Coderre, whose soulful influences include Sade, TLC, and Marvin Gaye. More music

All my friends are heathens, take it slow. But not too slow, just fast enough to make it up the 154 on time for the Hoodlum Friends’ show at the Cold Spring Tavern. The local rock band performs at the tavern on Friday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. This Santa Barbara-based band plays an eclectic variety of folk rock and surf instrumentals. The venue’s weekend lineup continues with solo artist Jim Rankin, who performs an afternoon blend of acoustic rock covers on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. Back Pocket follows that evening, playing from 5 to 8 p.m. Influences of this local ensemble include Pink Floyd, Sheryl Crow, and Janis Joplin.

The lineup wraps up with Cold Spring regulars Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan, who perform on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1:15 to 4 p.m. This Central Coast-based duo specializes in blues, rags, and good time tunes. Filipino actor and singer Ian Veneracion will perform alongside Pinoy Pop Superstar Grand-winning artist Jona Viray in concert at the Chumash Casino Resort, on Friday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m. The performance takes place in the resort’s Samala Showroom, and admission ranges from $49 to $69. Also in the Santa Ynez Valley, dance band The Politics of Dancing is set to perform at the Maverick Saloon on Friday, Jan. 24, from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Country-rock group Pull the Trigger is next up on the venue’s docket, with a show scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 8 to 11 p.m. The saloon also hosts local duo Liva and Starling the following afternoon, Sunday, Jan. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. Entry to all three performances is complimentary.
