Interested in horses? The Lompoc Pony Club is looking for new members who want to learn to ride, groom horses, and make friends along the way.
Part of United States Pony Clubs, Inc., the group teaches English riding, mounted sports, and the care of horses and ponies, helping kids and young adults up to age 25 develop responsibility, moral judgment, leadership, and self-confidence. Members will learn the ins and outs of stable management, veterinary care, equine nutrition, trailer safety, and tack care, in addition to riding sports.
Ā Based at La Salle Stables in Lompoc, the club has a new location in Santa Maria and will soon have a facility in Los Alamos. It holds riding lessons every weekend and practice days during the week.
