An opening reception for Ron Williams’ photography at the Dunes Center Art Gallery will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the center, 1055 Guadalupe St., in Guadalupe.
Most of Williams’ photographic career has been spent documenting his life’s experiences. Although he had mastered the technical aspects of photography by his early 20s, he gained an appreciation for the visual arts later in life with his travels through France and Italy.
Through his participation in exhibitions at the Channel City Camera Club and workshops with professional photographers, he gained more perspective in his career. By attempting to capture nature’s beauty through photography, he believes he’s become more sensitive to and appreciative of the natural world.
“It’s my hope that my work will convey the spirituality of nature to others as well,” Williams said in a statement.
