The Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos is holding a Mexican Christmas celebration, the Las Posadas, on Dec. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the historic adobe house in Nipomo. The word posada means ā€œinnā€ or ā€œshelter,ā€ and the celebration sets out to recreate Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter in Bethlehem.

A local youth choir will perform traditional music, including Christmas carols while attendees may enjoy hot chocolate and pan dulce. The Dana Adobe will also hold a collection for canned goods in support of the Nipomo Food Basket.

The Dana Adobe is located at 671 S. Oakglen Ave., Nipomo. More information is available at 929-5679 or danaadobe.org.
