Actor and comedian Felipe Esparza will be playing the Chumash Casino Resort on Jan. 23 during his At My Leisure world tour. His stand-up starts at 8 p.m. in the Samala Showroom.

After overcoming substance abuse, Esparza found stand-up comedy and began performing when he was 18 years old. His routines comment on cultural identity and his immigrant upbringing. In 2010, he was the first Latino performer to win Last Comic Standing, a series on NBC.

Since then, he’s released several comedy specials including They’re Not Gonna Laugh at You in 2012, Translate This in 2017, and Bad Decisions in 2020, which was the first special to be released in both Spanish and English. His most recent special on Netflix, Raging Fool, came out in February 2025.

“Esparza continues to be recognized for both his humor and for advancing Latinx representation in comedy,” according to press materials. “Whether it is through a TV screen, on a live stage, or on his podcast, he knows how to keep an audience entertained and wanting more.”

Tickets start at $55 and can be purchased online at chumashcasino.com/entertainment. Audience members must be 21 or older.

The Chumash Casino Resort is located at 3400 E. Highway 246 in Santa Ynez.
