Allan Hancock College sophomore Bailey Killough’s most recent softball season earned her a spot on the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association All-State Team for the second year in a row.
The Arroyo Grande High School graduate ranked sixth in her conference this season with a .430 batting average and second with eight home runs, according to Hancock’s athletics website. She ranked seventh statewide and led her conference with 52 runners batted in.
“Her ability to step up in stressful, game-changing situations is so helpful,” head coach Scia Maumausolo told the Sun.
Killough, who was also named the 2018 Western State Conference’s Player of the Year, plans to play ball at a four-year university next year, Maumausolo said.
“When you have an athlete like that come through your program,” Maumausolo said, “she will be missed.”
