Young performers needed for Irving Berlin’s White Christmas
PCPA needs young female performers, ages 9 to 14, for the upcoming holiday production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.
Auditions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Severson Theatre on the Allan Hancock College campus in Santa Maria.
Young performers should be prepared to sing 16 bars of any song. Bring sheet music—no recordings; an accompanist will be provided. Bring a headshot and a r»sum» of the child’s theatrical experience. Children will be seen in the order they arrive.
Rehearsals for White Christmas begin Sept. 30. Performances run Nov. 6 through Dec. 21.

Enjoy an afternoon of winetasting and art viewing without traveling far from home. The Santa Maria Valley Wine Country will host a wine and art experience, featuring eight local wineries during the Wine and Art Passport Event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 25 through 27, at participating wineries.

Central Coast Latin band expands its audience
Local Latin band Qu» Cosa is enjoying some increased recognition. The group’s latest album, Viejo Amor, is now featured on iTunes Latino. It can be found under “Lo Nuevo.”
The band is also being featured on Internet Radio sites such as Batanga, LastFM, and Rhapsody, and on the independent music site Amiestreet.
