The Allan Hancock College men’s baseball team is enjoying its most successful season in a decade as it heads into spring tournament time.
The team recently rode a five-game winning streak, including a pair of victories over Western State South Conference leader Cuesta College. As a result, Hancock moved up to No. 13 in Southern California in the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association poll and is ranked No. 6 in the Southern Conference, according to the Rating Points Index.
As of press time, the Bulldogs were second (behind Cuesta) in the Southern Conference standings with an 18-11 overall record and an 11-4 mark in conference play.
Hancock will host its Spring Classic tournament games April 7 to 9 at Hancock Field. The tournament includes match-ups against top teams from other areas, including Northern California’s No. 4 ranked Merced and two top-20 teams from Los Angeles: Cerritos and College of the Canyons.
