• Memorial Boxing Event: A boxing show in Santa Maria for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and public safety volunteers is Oct. 22. The event will be a fundraiser in remembrance of fallen peace officer Derrick Rush. The card will feature 10 matches, with fighters subject to change. • Santa Barbara County Golf Championship: Entries are currently being accepted for the 36-hole championship tournament, to be held at the La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc Oct. 22 to 23. The tournament is open to amateur golfers 18 and older. The cost is $150 and includes green fees, a prize fund, and a barbecue. Carts will be optional and cost $10 each day.
