Attendees at the Nonprofit Support Center’s Funder Panel symposium on Sept. 25 will be able to talk directly to some of the voices of philanthropy on the Central Coast. Participants will be able to ask questions and address issues that directly impact their organizations.
Members of local nonprofits will participate in discussions designed to provide an overview of grant guidelines, the application process, challenges that affect the nonprofit sector, and how nonprofits can work toward being exposed to more diverse funding streams.
“Nonprofit organizations are facing huge economic challenges with budget cuts, increased competition for funding, and increased community needs,” Maria Fabula, Nonprofit Support Center regional manager, said in a press release. “With all the needs in Northern Santa Barbara County, the Funder Panel is an excellent opportunity for nonprofits to begin to cultivate relationships with foundation leaders.”
Foundations participating on the panel include the North County Women’s Fund, Hutton Foundation, Orfalea Foundation, Fund For Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara Community Foundation.
The Funder Panel will take place at St. Mark’s In-The-Valley Episcopal Church, at 2901 Nojoqui Ave., in Los Olivos, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The cost is $35 for Nonprofit Support Center members, and $55 for nonmembers. For more information or to register for the workshop, go to www.supportcenter.org, e-mail scampbell@supportcenter.org, or call 928-2503.
