Businesses in the Lompoc Valley now have the chance to show their undying love for the City of Arts and Flowers by dressing up their windows.

The Santa Barbara Foundation Lompoc affiliate and the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Bureau have launched a window display contest with the theme ā€œI Love Lompoc.ā€ Retailers and service providers are encouraged to decorate their storefronts to reflect the spirit of the city.

Each window will be judged on its use of theme, overall appearance, attractiveness, and use of color. The merchants will vie for the ā€œPeople’s Choiceā€ award, voted on by the community, and an ā€œI Love Lompocā€ judges award, determined by a panel of local judges. All contest winners will be given stickers to put in their store windows, and the judged contest winners get to designate a donation provided the Santa Barbara Foundation to a local nonprofit of their choice.

All retailers and service providers, whether chamber members or not, are invited to participate in the contest. Businesses have until Aug. 28 to register. Decorations will be on display Sept. 21 through 28.

Maps and ballots for the community vote, beginning on September 18, are available online at lompoc.chambermaster.com/news/details/i-love-lompoc-window-display-competition.

An awards reception is planned for Oct. 3.
