Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones direct this 1975 British comedy by the Monty Python comedy group. Written by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, and Eric Idle, the story is a gag-filled absurdist take on the Arthurian legend.

Chapman stars as Arthur, Cleese is Sir Lancelot the Brave, Gilliam is Arthur’s servant Patsy, Idle is Sir Robin the-not-quite-so-brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, Terry Jones is Sir Bedevere the Wise, and Michael Palin is Sir Galahad the Pure, among other roles. After traveling to Camelot, God (also Gilliam) appears and directs Arthur to find the Holy Grail.

“Brave knights, shrubbery enthusiasts, and lovers of independent local radio, rejoice! The Rock Community Radio invites the Central Coast to sound the trumpets—or bang your coconut halves together—for a night of medieval cinematic madness,” The Rock announced.

“Attendees are encouraged to arrive early in their finest medieval garb, brave knight armor, Killer Rabbit attire, or Tim the Enchanter robes for a high-stakes Grand Costume Contest featuring big prizes for the best dressed,” organizers continued. “To quench your questing thirst, a selection of refreshing beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the evening.”

The Rock is a non-commercial, volunteer-powered community radio station. (91 min.)
