The Montalvo Youth Baseball League is on the hunt for local baseball teams to take part in the Halloween-themed āMonster Bash,ā a two-weekend baseball tournament held in Ventura.
Teams with players from ages 9 to 14 are invited to take part. All teams are guaranteed to play at least three games; 9U, 11U, and 13U teams will play Oct. 8 through 10, while 10U, 12U, and 14U will play Oct. 15 through 17. Teams traveling more than 25 miles to Ventura will play only on Saturdays.
The league will provide baseballs, and umpire fees wonāt be required. Awards will be handed out to first- and second-place teams.
The tournament takes place at the Montalvo Baseball Complex, 1929 Johnson Dr. in Ventura. The cost to enter is $425 per team before Oct. 1, and $475 thereafter. Tournament slots will fill up fast, so teams are encouraged to register online as soon as possible. Payment can be mailed to Montalvo Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 5027, Ventura, CA 93005.
