Bugreyev has studied with some of the top Impressionist painters in the United States, including Sergei Bonart. She’s also an art teacher.

She gets her inspiration from the colors around her, but she does have her favorites.

ā€œI like whites because they absorb everything. It’s so pure and so clean, yet it says so much,ā€ she said. ā€œI love beautiful reds, but it can be difficult because there are so many reds.ā€

Bugreyev enjoys when viewers ask why she chose a particular red for a rose or an apple—such questions show that the thoughtfulness she puts into her color selections isn’t lost on audiences. Her style incorporates lots of paint on a canvas, all of it applied with bold strokes. Her loose, dreamy flowers and still-life paintings have been described as spontaneous and energetic, yet elegant and serene.

Collectors show her paintings in Germany, Russia, Sweden, and the United States, and her work has earned her many awards. See why at David Ryan Gallery.
