Hold on to your holiday waste. There won’t be any garbage or recycling collection services or street sweeping on Dec. 25 in Santa Maria, because of the Christmas holiday. The Santa Maria Regional Landfill will also be closed for the day. Santa Maria’s residential and commercial customers will receive service one day later than their normal pick up (Thursday customers will receive service on Dec. 26, and Friday customers on Dec. 27.) Monday through Wednesday won’t see any change. Trash and recycling containers should be set out by 6:30 a.m. on the day of service. Health Sanitation Services pick-ups for city residential and commercial customers will also happen a day later.
