Make your artistic voice heard by choosing from designs of tropical flowers, sunshine and a garden, or whimsical doodles for the city of Santa Maria’s next mural, which will be painted at Taylor Park in November. Vote online through the Recreation and Parks Department website until Oct. 28, according to the department’s marketing coordinator, Karen Ramos.
After the winning design gets chosen, the community is invited to join the hands-on, messy fun on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“This free, family-friendly event offers the opportunity to come together, express creativity, and take part in a lasting public art project that celebrates the community spirit,” according to the city.
The painting day will be held at Taylor Park, located at the north end of N. Miller St. near 403 E. Taylor St.
“This public art project aligns with the city’s Smart City, Safe City vision, enhancing public spaces, fostering creativity, and strengthening community connection through accessible art opportunities,” according to the city.
