The Wildling Museum will hold its “Masters Program” landscape photography workshop the weekend of April 9 through 11 at 2928 San Marcos Ave., Los Olivos.

The workshop incorporates a detailed look, through examples and in-the-field practice, at the principles, effects, and devices history’s greatest landscape painters and photographers created and used in making their world class art. The classroom work is followed by guided field assignments and constructive reviews.

The workshop is taught by professional landscape photographers Tom Gamache of Wandering Around Outdoors photography workshops and Van Webster of Webster Communications.

All types of cameras are welcome. The course includes advanced visualization theory (seeing without the camera), 3-D to 2-D (converting reality to pictures), black and white, filters, hyperfocal focusing, chiaroscuro, color, composition, centrality, light metering, atmosphere, exposure, f-stops, shutter speeds, and much more. Elementary Photoshop techniques, HDR photography, panoramas—their history and creation, digital fine art ink jet printing, and hundreds of technical tips and pro-secrets will be discussed in depth. Continental-style breakfasts and lunch on Saturday will be provided. Group dinners are encouraged. Tuition is $395 and doesn’t include transportation or room and board.
