Recent developments in air quality management will be the topics of discussion at the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Business Development Committee luncheon on Feb. 16.

As the luncheon’s guest speaker, Santa Barbara County’s Director/Air Pollution Control Officer Terry Dressler will talk about new state and federal climate protection regulations, strategies for reducing exposure to fine airborne particles, and efforts to control emissions from marine shipping.

Dressler has worked for the district since 2004 and previously managed the Regulatory Compliance Division and Technical Services Division. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the California Air Pollution Control Officers Association for five years.

The luncheon takes place at the Fairpark Satellite Wagering Center, 937 S. Thornburg St. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by a lunch meeting at noon. VTC Enterprises will cater the meal, provided for $12.

To RSVP, call Barbara O’Malley at 925-2403, Ext. 824, or e-mail barbara@santamaria.com.
